My role is Regional Support for a banking client in Scotland. I cover all of our sites in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Greenock and my role consists of front of house duties, customer liaison, bookings, AV, and assisting at our Conference Centre.
How long have you worked in front of house?
For almost four years with Mitie Client Services.
What does a typical day look like in your role?
Due to the nature of my role, every day is different and I can be challenged with anything from front of house duties and visitors, to sorting out technical issues in meeting rooms. Because I cover so many functions, sometimes I come across unusual situations that I’ve not experienced before, but I always find a way of sorting it out with the help of the team of experts I work with.
What’s the most interesting thing about your job?
I think the fact that not one day is the same as another is interesting. I really don’t know what I can be challenged with until the day starts! I really love engaging with clients and customers and I like the general chit chat I can have with them. As I work in regional support it’s also lovely to visit all the different sites and, no matter where I go, people always seem to know who I am. It’s a lovely feeling to have someone come up to you and say “it’s lovely to have you back with us” – it really makes you feel appreciated.
Have you got any interesting stories you can share?
Every day is interesting! If I was to share a story we would be here for a very long time! 🙂
What is your favourite part of the role?
Learning new skills, increasing my knowledge and putting it all into practice is fantastic but working with an exceptional team of people is the best bit.
